Armagedda 2020

On pensait Armagedda disparu en 2004 après leur excellent troisième album Ond Spiritism qui oeuvrait dans un black metal maladif comme on l'apprécie à Nausea, découvert par le biais de l'excellent side-projet Leviathan (Far Beyond the Light en 2002). Entre temps, les deux membres du duo actif depuis 1999 (d'abord sous le patronyme Volkermord) se sont investis chacun de leur côté dans pas mal de projets musicaux différents. Armagedda n'avait de toute façon pas vraiment disparu : en 2010 était sorti l'excellent Ep "I Am" regroupant des morceaux perdus de 2001-2002 et l'existence du groupe continuait d'être entretenue par leur sites internet et du merchandising. En juin 2019, une version alternative du morceau "Ændalykt" a d'ailleurs été diffusée. En 2019 ont aussi été réédités leurs 3 albums en CD et vynil ainsi que du merchandising sur le propre label de Andreas Petterson sur lequel sort ce nouvel album intitulé Svindeldjup Ättestup. Bien que les rééditions soient souvent un prélude au retour, rien n'indiquait un nouvel album dont Armagedda a annoncé la sortie immédite le 15 mai sur sa page Facebook : 

"And so it was told that in the seventeenth year, things that were thought to be dead begun to stir again in the earth, as if awoken by the stench of man-fear penetrating deep beyond the reach of sunlight. Reanimated by some nameless and cursed source of vitality they say it has begun pouring and trickling from the dark crevices of the North, like an ancient curse into the veins of the world. And with the same fearful fascination that we behold something full of life being robbed of it's vitality and pulse, we shall now bear witness to that which ought to be forever dead but by unnatural impulse and eager invocation is again given life, to haunt and to stalk the night of the world."
